I did not know that saw my companions, but it seemed to me that the gloom was split on separate parts. Some of them rose in air, then again fell on the earth, as though incapable to leave it though they very much would like it. It were only dark stains in night which went down on a valley. However it was absolutely clear that they come nearer to our fire, silently and threateningly. I still never felt such helpless and defenceless.The truth I have bared the sword though it was not clear how I can use it against these incorporeal creations of night which have appeared as from under the earths. However my movement has not passed not noticed, and I have heard quiet words of Gatei:

And the fear has captured me as unlike delightful singers who enticed us at last night, it was malicious this time in an own terrible appearance.
