Why Should You Use PNG Image Format in Your Website Creation?
The benefits of including PNG images in web designing over various other formats ;for instance, GIF and JPEG; the image format can be used to make better and spectacular images that will prove alluring to your visitorsThe PNG file format was introduced a few years back; it was brought out for consumers in the mid 90's to make up for the shortcomings of the traditional GIF file format. However, it did not make an impression because the early browsers were unable to support the progressive offerings of PNG so web designers and makers had to incorporate it restrictedly. One of the main blocks faced by the format was Microsoft's flagship product, Internet Explorer which was by far the most famous browsers of the time; IE had little or no provision for PNG support consequently the format could only be incorporated to a bare minimum. Then, matters metamorphosed after the availability of IE7; this latest offering from Microsoft has proved immensely useful in increasing increasing the utility of PNGs. So lets take a look at three reasons why PNG is by far the most useful image formats around today:

They look fantastic: Apart from the fact, that you get amazing flexibility wit PNG images; there are a myriad of other advantages to including this format. For example, when you use a JPEG image, you lose some of the information from the initial image every time the file is saved, so after a while, you will be able to see a noticeable downgrade in the appearance of the pictures. Even though, this concern has now been sorted in in the file type and it is possible to store the files without compromising any information, GIF has a limited color palette of 256, which imparts it quite ineffective if you want to store a photograph. On the other hand, with PNG, you will get the most desired benefits of the two file types; you will have access to an extensive color display similar to JPEG format and it also offers managed color palette a la GIF files. Also the storage of the picture is sans loss so the photograph stays put regardless of how many time you save it.
PNG is self optimizing: A major concern that web designers have to tackle on a daily basis is the fact that the brightness and the contrast ratio of the screen has to be changed to see the pictures appropriately; the issue comes into the picture due to various Gamma setting used in monitors from different vendors. Gamma setting is a technique that helps to scatter the brightness across the screen. However, various operating systems use distinct Gamma settings. So, an image that is color corrected to suit Windows may not look right on a Mac. Here again, in this scenario the flexible PNG picture format can prove useful, in PNG, you can save the files with an inherent Gamma correction feature so despite the differences in operating systems; the Gamma settings will be changed on its own to display a file with the perfect contrast and brightness.
