Chapter 19By Jupiter
Even from distance of thirty millions kilometres Jupiter looked the most impressive heavenly, a body from everything that were visible ahead. The planet seemed to them a pale rozovato-yellow disk in the size about in half of Moon what we it see from the Earth; on it dark parallel strips of cloudy belts clearly appeared. In an equatorial plane round Jupiter bright stars - Io addressed, Europe, Ganimed and Kallisto, the whole worlds which in other part of Solar system quite would descend for independent planets, and here were only companions of the huge lord.
In a telescope Jupiter stunned with the greatness - the spotty multi-coloured sphere filled in with itself all field of vision. It was impossible to comprehend its true sizes. Though Boumen incessantly reminded itself that diameter of Jupiter in eleven times more terrestrial, it remains in the dead figure which does not have real sense.
On this roughly changed cloudy cover which forever has hidden under self a true surface of a planet, round dark stains from time to time slid. It is any of the nearest moon passed between a planet and the far Sun, and its shade ran behind it following on a cloudy landscape of Jupiter.
Here again, in thirty millions kilometres, the moon of Jupiter - others, much more smaller rushed. It were simply flying mountains a diameter in tens kilometres, but the ship line did not approach close to one of them. The ship radar with intervals some minutes sent impulses of the energy similar to silent lightning discharges to space, and did not receive any reflected signal from the nearest zones - was around empty.
But all the mighty roar - a radio voice of Jupiter more loudly sounded. In 1955, at the beginning of a space age, astronomers with amazement have found out that Jupiter radiates enormous, measured in millions watt energy in a ten-metre range. This radiation has been caught in the form of chaotic radio noise; as its source considered the auras of the charged particles surrounding Jupiter like terrestrial belts of Van-Allena, but, of course, incomparably more powerful.
